Overview
Data governance in Singularity AI ensures the right people have access to the right data. Use namespaces and permission levels to control how documents are organized and who can access them.
Namespaces
Namespaces are organizational groupings for documents. Use them to create logical boundaries within your data connections.
Managing Namespaces
Navigate to Workspace > Data Connections > Namespaces to:
- Create new namespaces with descriptive names
- Edit namespace titles and descriptions
- Set defaults — Mark a namespace as the default for new uploads
- AI optimization — Use the AI-assisted description optimization feature
Namespace in Practice
| Use Case | Namespace Example |
|---|
| By department | Legal, Engineering, Marketing |
| By project | Project Alpha, Q4 Planning |
| By data sensitivity | Public, Internal, Confidential |
Document Permission Levels
Each document can have a permission level controlling who can access it:
| Level | Description |
|---|
| Public | Accessible to all teamspace members |
| Private | Accessible only to the uploader |
| Restricted | Accessible to specifically granted users |
| Exclude | Excluded from AI search results |
Best Practices
- Plan your namespace structure before uploading documents
- Use consistent naming across namespaces
- Set appropriate defaults to reduce manual configuration
- Review access regularly to ensure permissions are up to date
- Use the “Exclude” level for documents that shouldn’t appear in AI responses
